Go fishing
in Key West with Spear One Charters
Captain
Steve Rodger is ready to take you on the trip of a lifetime
to catch fish in the waters of Key
West, Florida. Steve is a native to Key West, which is a rare
thing, and he grew up fishing and
diving the waters around Key
West and the Lower Florida Keys.
Down here there
is always something to fish for when you charter
a light tackle boat. Capt. Steve runs a Conch27 center
console boat that is fully equipped with the finest in sonar
and radar equipment for finding fish.
The seasons
in Key West dictate the fishing. Fall is great for wahoo,
blackfin tuna, bonita and kingfish. There are other species
around as well, such as yellowfin tuna and mahi mahi dolphin.
The sailfishing in Key West can get red hot from fall into
winter. Spear One uses live bait to fish with most of
the
year, what fish can resist a live bait?\
We also offer
offshore fly fishing charters for tuna, cobia, sailfish,
kingfish and more! Try your fly casting skill in the deep
water and hook the fish of a lifetime with Spear One.
Springtime
is great for reef and wreck fishing and Capt. Steve knows
where the big ones are. Mutton, snapper and grouper along
with cobia and kingfish can be part of your workout on the
Spear One. The mahi dolphin are starting to come in thick
around Key West too. They are a blast to fish for on fly!
Tarpon fishing in the harbor is really good in the spring and into the
early summer. Tarpon trips are especially fun because you
never know what you are going to get while fishing in the
harbor. Permit, cobia, tarpon, snapper and the occasional
kingfish. It makes for a pretty fun day.
